PRC partners with LGU-Pilar for Rizal Day Celebration 2016
Pilar Reading Center volunteers and kids took part in the 120th Anniversary of Martyrdom of Dr. Jose P. Rizal at CNLL Compound, Pilar, Sorsogon on December 30, 2016.
The celebration centered on the theme: Rizal: Bayaning Global, Idol ni Juan.
PRC kids rendered tula entitled ” Jose Rizal ” and sang Pilar Reading Center song. PRC kids and other attendees were encouraged to read, study and love education like Rizal.
PRC volunteers also took part in the program. Two PRC teachers conducted Storytelling Sessions with the PRC kids and other attendees. Ms. Chloe Ann Arias shared about the ” Gamu-gamo at si Rizal “. Ms. Sharmaine Sulayao also shared a story about “Si Pagong at si Matsing”. Rizal also created an illustration of the latter story.
The following who graced the occasion were : Honorable Mayor Carolyn Reyes represented by Municipal Administrator Art Garchitorena, Hon. Luis Leosala Jr., Hon. Emmanuel Sia, Hon. Liezel Millano and Hon. Ambrosio Mananes. Also present in the event were SB staff, PNP Officials, BFP officials, Maritime and Coast Guard representatives, OSCA representatives, MDRRMO staff, DepEd principal and teachers.
“Let us make Jose P. Rizal our hero, our idol and our inspiration” uttered by Municipal Administrator Art Garchitorena. He cited that such event was the first of its kind in town.
The program was hosted by Lowel Andrian Solayao, PRC founder.
